Head of Economic Affairs Stephanie Wüst opens second Frankfurt Forward quarterly event at Massif Central

At the Frankfurt Forward quarterly event at the beginning of the week, after exciting keynote speeches, startups, experts and industry representatives intensively exchanged ideas in a discussion round on the topic of retail transformation. The possibilities and limits of digital retail were examined in more detail with "Best Practices" and "Lessons Learned". Around 70 guests followed the discussion at Massif Central, one of the hotspots for events and activities in Frankfurt's city centre.

The event was opened with a welcoming speech by City Councillor Stephanie Wüst, Head of Department for Economics, Law and Reforms, City of Frankfurt am Main: "Stationary retail continues to be an important magnet in the city centres and in the district streets. But: the demands and expectations on modern retail have increased enormously. The shop is becoming a showroom and meeting place - but communication and purchasing take place both online and offline. As a city, we want to help think about and link digitisation and retail together and network experts from both disciplines. "

Oliver Schwebel, Managing Director of the Frankfurt Economic Development Corporation, gave the closing remarks of the evening: "I am pleased that we were able to attract exciting guests for today's panel discussion, who will provide us with valuable insights and suggestions with their expertise on how the path to digital retail can succeed and what role startups play in the digitisation of the sector. "

The following guests participated in the panel discussion as impulse generators: Kevin Eyber (OneSpot) and Franz Steul (Gewerbeverein Bornheim Mitte) The panellists were: Dr Dominik Benner (The Platform Group), Herbert Boos(Cyreen), Denise Boxler (Schätze Bergen), Lena Karoline Sophie Grewenig (Lab106), Dr Joachim Stoll (IHK Frankfurt am Main) and Sven Rohde (Handelsverband Hessen e.V.).

The expert moderation was provided by Philipp Schleef.
